quipquipquip: Coloring practice! From Batman #1. Pencils by Greg Capullo, inks by Jonathan Glapion. I did my colors without referencing the published version, so it’s interesting to see how my color choices altered the mood. I think it might err on being too dark, but my default for Batman is dark, bold, and noir. Something for me to think about. Anyway! It was good practice. You know, I don’t know if it’s my ‘quipquipquip is awesome’ problem rearing its ferocious head again, but I genuinely love this and prefer it to the original. Especially the bottom three panels with the cigar lighting, and the general noir feel. Super gorgeous.

  17. yellowis4happy said: The only potentially negative thing I can see in the darkness is it becomes hard to see the inks in some places, which might not always be preferable, especially with the artists that are as detailed with their lines as Capullo is.
